We all know how Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a need for everyone in this world today.
It was said that soon many people are going to lose their jobs because of AI. Which is not something surprising. People would definitely trust a machine in storing and remembering data rather than trusting a human brain.
But how will it become fatal?
We all know that a machine can build anything itself if certain data has been put inside it, except a common sense.
Common sense is not made by learning something. It is developed within. But this is the thing which will be lacking in a machine for a long time.
But remember, robots were not possible 200 hundred or 500 hundred years ago. A wireless remote, a rocket, or a computer wasn’t possible in that period.
But today, we see things that are just incredible and unbelievable but real.
It won’t be surprising if one day machines start to have common sense, which is not soon though.
Till then, AI will be dangerous.
TayTweets, an AI chatbot created by Microsoft was created to communicate with people and just do random tweets as a robot on Twitter.
One day the chatbot went crazy and started tweeting racist and hate tweets on Twitter. The chatbot didn’t stop and the company had to shut it down within 16 hours to bring down the heat among people.
There are many incidents where AI started acting on its own.
Our complete dependence on AI can seriously harm humanity, in a way we don’t even know.
The Step of Destruction
Japan’s Top Robotics Company was making robots for military purposes. They had built 4 AI robots for military assistance.
When they started testing these robots with guns, these robots fired the people with metal bullets in labs instead of firing the target and killed 29 people in that lab.
The scientists deactivated 2 robots and took apart the third one. They turned off 3 robots.
The 4th robot even when it was off, restored itself and connected itself to an orbiting satellite somehow to download information about how to rebuild itself even more faster and stronger.
When I heard this, it gave me goosebumps that AI in the 21st century, has become this strong already, and has somehow started it’s first step to kill humans.
We can already see how relying too much on machines can lead us to unexpected fatal situations. Still, we’re trying to reach the point where technology will just surpass the minds of humans.
And when that day comes, it will be the time for humans to go extinct.
