I have a total of 3 nephews, but I am only going to talk about 1 of them. They are really very very naughty and mischievous. I am not a person who can live alone with kids for long I guess. They might be the age of around five really.
2 of them are siblings and one of them is their cousin. All of them are my cousins’ children.
Whenever I am with them, for 10 minutes it’s like “Such a cutie he is hahaha”. But after those 10–15 minutes, I can’t take them at all.
Messi and Laddoo. Their names. These are just nicknames. The real names are an address long.
When they were around 3 or 2 I guess, they would not eat food at all and would cry out loud like hell. I could never take those cries I swear. I wish I could slap one of them, but then the thought that they are just kids.
They would cry so much that their mom, my cousin, would give them her mobile, so they could watch something on it and stop their crying. It always worked.
Whenever they cried or didn’t wanna do something their mom wanted them to do, they gave them their mobile to watch “COCOMELON”. It’s a cartoon on YouTube. They were so stubborn, that they would cry all the time. Yeah, they would stop crying when they would see a mobile in their hands with cartoons on YouTube.
My cousin would be relieved when they would stop crying.
After some time, it made it worse I guess because at first, they were crying because they didn’t want to eat food, but after that, they would cry because they wanted a mobile to watch something while eating. It had become their habit of watching something while eating.
It became so bad after some time that they were watching YouTube even when they were not eating. They always wanted a phone to watch something or to play games.
Their parents, would not even be watching them when they were doing this.
They will just be saying, “Oh they don’t listen whenever we tell them to stop using mobile, it will hurt your eyes. They cry a lot, and you won’t understand the pain we go through when they just cry for hours for a phone”.
Can you believe that? In our time, there were no phones like that. We’re alive, right?
How weak in these times are the parents have become that they don’t wanna take any pain.
That nephew of mine is always on the phone with his eyes literally embedded in the screen.
Those kids, while using their parents’ phones, broke the screens and the phone as well, a lot of times, and because of that, they had to buy new phones pretty often.
To that, the solution they found was, buying a legit TAB for the kid.
Yes, a 4 year old, having his personal tab.
And please, they’re not from a royal family, and the kids are not born with a silver spoon.
They bought a TAB for him??!!
Because of that as well, the kids started to expect more from them. Like once, I remember, a 5-year-old nephew of mine, arguing with his father. And literally, his father was serious as well, and talking to him-
My Nephew (Messi): Dad you don’t love me, you only give your phone to my younger brother and not me
His Father: I don’t love you? Son I love you so much, I give you my phone a lot of times.
Messi: No Dad you don’t love me at all. You only buy gifts for him and not for me.
His Father: I don’t buy gifts for you?? I bought more gifts for you, and I also bought this tab (holding it in his hand) for you so that you can use it for yourself only. Laddoo doesn’t even have a phone or anything of his own.
Messi: No you only give your phone to Laddoo, you don’t love me. I don’t like you.
Can you believe that? I was so shocked, and because I don’t like kids much, I was so angry with that kid at that time! But he wasn’t even at fault for his behaviour.
They both are actually good, it is just this behavior of theirs. They are very cute and that family is sweet. It’s just this habit is very common in everyone nowadays. It’s not something that is happening in front of me only.
